Amenity Review Update for Homeowners
in IronOaks at Sun Lakes
By Chuck Sloan, Committee Chair

The ad-hoc Amenity Acquisition Review Committee was formed by the Board to investigate and analyze an opportunity for IronOaks to acquire the golf courses, health club and tennis facilities from the developer. This is the initial update message to homeowners to let them know what is happening with this process, and how we expect to proceed in the coming weeks and months.

Initially, we are assembling a group of volunteers to assist with the review. I am very gratified with the overwhelming support shown by our homeowners, even those who are enjoying a cooler summer elsewhere. We have acquired a team of skilled and experienced residents whom I believe can apply an objective view to the vast quantities of data and information we must accumulate in the months ahead. That is not to say that we would not consider adding more volunteers to our team, which now numbers in excess of 40. We will continue to entertain offers to assist from those homeowners who have experience or training in fields relevant to an analysis of a real estate transaction of this nature.

This review process will likely take several months to conclude. We are in the initial stages of putting together a planning schedule to guide our activities. Because numerous volunteers are absent from the community at this time, I will rely on a few skilled specialists to assist with initial planning. We will then share proposals with the group and secure further input to help us refine our activities as appropriate.

I will keep the community informed of our activities and progress on a regular basis. It will be difficult to secure much progress toward our objective until early this fall. We also are unlikely to reach any conclusion to this effort much before the end of the year. Once all relevant information is collected and analyzed, we anticipate there will be plenty of time for the Board and Committee to conduct informative Town Hall Meetings.

Initial Announcement Below

Special Announcement- AMENITY ACQUISITION REVIEW COMMITTEE

Chuck Sloan has accepted the appointment of chairman of the Amenity Acquisition review committee.  Robson Communities has indicated a desire to sell the tennis courts, fitness center, and the golf courses to the Homeowners.
The formation of this committee is an “exploratory” committee and is confined to information gathering, identification of critical resources, appraisal of each amenity, quality assessment, financial viability of various scenarios and funding options.  This committee is not intended to be an advocacy group to promote one perspective or another.
Committee participants who can bring analytical, engineering and financial or other special skills to the evaluation process are asked to volunteer.  Community wide input will be essential to a successful conclusion to this process.  The Board and Committee will establish the means to exchange information with members of the community.
Those interested in participating should contact Chuck Sloan at hoasloan@wbhsi.net or phone 883-1858.
